No trains to London Paddington this morning

The scene at Paddington Station London as trains are unable to run between the railway hub and Slough or Heathrow Airport after overhead electric wires were

"Customers intending to travel to or from intermediate stations between London Paddington and Slough are advised not attempt to travel by train until such time that confirmation has been published that the route has been reopened".

Passengers faced travel chaos after a Hitachi test train hit overhead cables in Hanwell near Ealing Broadway at around 7.30pm on Tuesday, October 16.

The disruption caused mayhem across the Great Western Railway (GWR), which serves Bristol, Cardiff and the West Country, with a significantly reduced service across the network and all trains terminating at Reading.

Two of the four lines from Slough to Paddington may open this afternoon. The train was not in passenger service.

The problems were then made worse when South Western Railway, which provides services to London Waterloo, announced a signal failure between Reading, Berkshire, and Wokingham was also going to cause problems.
