Palm Phone hands-on: an Android phone for your phone

Palm Palm

The device, which goes on sale next month for $350, is not a real smartphone either, so let's not pretend it's a good idea. It just has a fancy name.

It comes from a startup in San Francisco, which purchased the rights for the name from TCL a year ago.

'There's a time to lean into our devices and a time to lean into the world, ' Palm said. Again, the phone would not even be worth mentioning if it weren't for that Palm branding.

Six killed in French floods
All schools, colleges and high schools have been closed for the day, the prefecture of Aude said. "It's too risky ", he said. The Catholic sister, who has not yet been named, died in Villardonnel, a village close to Carcassone, in Aude, overnight.

Priced at Dollars 349 (about RM 1450), the new Palm which is manufactured by TCL will be released in the United States this coming November. For now at least, the Palm is a Verizon-exclusive, and use's the carrier NumberShare service to sync your messages and notifications between your main phone and this thing.

Available on Verizon, it uses the same number as your main handset, but offers a "cut down" set of features. Here you'll find a custom build of Android with no traditional home pages or anything. Palm is advertising as a device that you can use when you want to stay present in life. Almost every smartphone out there has an "all-screen" design, which means the display occupies virtually all the available real estate on the front. Instead, you've got a vertical list of all your apps, a Google search bar at the top, quick access to the Google Assistant by double-pressing the power button, and that's about it.

The Palm is now expected to go on sale in November. And that makes it work exactly like a phone with a bigger screen. Wouldn't a smartwatch also help remove the need to pick up your smartphone, or carry one around during workouts? And finally, why is this Palm phone trying so hard to look like a mini iPhone X with an interface similar to the Apple Watch?
