Prince Harry, Meghan Markle's private jet struck by lightning on their way to Amsterdam

According to reports, the Duchess of Sussex has chose to bring her best friend and stylist Jessica Mulroney on the road with her next week when she and Prince Harry kick off a 16-day visit to Australia, Fiji, Tonga, and New Zealand-because even a duchess needs her BFF nearby.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived at Sydney Airport at about 7am on Monday morning on a Qantas flight from London.

Meghan and Harry were driven to Admiralty House.

The pair held hands and smiled as they walked through the airport, only separating when it came time to get into the vehicle.

A commercial flight believed to be carrying the Duke and Duchess of Sussex has landed in Sydney for the start of the couple's first official royal tour.

This year's Invictus Games run from October 20 to October 27.

Since becoming buds, they've been photographed together a number of times, and Mulroney was one of the guests at Markle's wedding in May.

They will carry out 76 engagements, including school visits, greeting members of the public at the Sydney Opera House, and meeting young leaders and community members at Government House.

They will then head back to Sydney before travelling to Fraser Island, then onwards to Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand.

The sporting event founded by Prince Harry in 2014 gives sick and injured service personnel and veterans the opportunity to compete in sports such as wheelchair basketball and sitting volleyball.

After landing in Sydney, the duke and duchess will travel to Dubbo and Melbourne, before spending three days in Sydney from October 19-21 to mark the launch of the games.
