Storm Callum: Your hour by hour forecast for Edinburgh and the Lothians

Storm Callum is expected to push north-eastwards to the west of Britain bringing heavy rain and damaging winds

Despite there being no weather warning now in place for Wrexham on Saturday, further heavy rainfall is expected to hit the area throughout most the day.

There is the continued risk of coastal flooding due to high seas.

Both Chirk Castle and Erddig Hall have also been closed throughout today due to the high winds.

Met Éireann issued a status-orange wind warning yesterday for 13 coastal counties and a status-yellow wind warning for 13 interior counties.

Met Office meteorologist Helen Roberts said: 'There will be more wet and windy weather for similar parts of the country - predominantly western areas - which could cause more flooding.

Motorists were battling tricky driving conditions, and flooding and falling trees have seen major disruption across rail services in Wales, Devon, Cornwall and between the North West and Scotland.

A Met Office spokesman said: "Following Storm Callum, heavy rain will continue to affect parts of northern England for much of Saturday".

Yellow warnings for rain and wind have also been issued across much of the west coast of the United Kingdom, from northern Scotland to Land's End in Cornwall.
