William and Kate to attend mental health summit

In Pictures: William and Kate at summit to mark World Mental Health Day

The Duchess paired her Emilia Wickstead "Kate" dress with an Aspinal bag. "Are we slowly waking up to mental health?".

She paired the outfit with nude heels and a pale lavender handbag. Vargas said he hoped to have other attendees also contribute to the painting to symbolize how everyone can lend a helping hand in tackling mental health issues.

The summit saw political figures, academics and policymakers discuss issues surrounding mental health, with the event working to help countries work together to address said issues.

Kate and William also met with Dairo Vargas, a contemporary fine artist from Columbia, who is creating an original piece of art at the summit, inspired by the day's events.

The Duke nominated his wife to add to the painting, telling everyone 'she is the arty one'.

Prince William and Catherine flashed huge smiles.

Her husband was only delighted to make a joke and said that his wife's handiwork had nearly "ruined the picture" but as you'll see from snaps and videos of the event, she saw the amusing side of his remark.

William and Kate have always been involved in mental health initiatives through their work on the Heads Together campaign.

Like most low and middle income countries, Zimbabwe puts people with mental health problems in hospitals, rather than treating them in the community, says Professor Dixon Chibanda of the University of Zimbabwe - one of the country's handful of trained psychiatrists. It marks the first time the couple has made a joint official visit since the birth of their third child, Prince Louis, in April. It should, as the royal donned the same Emilia Wickstead number back in July 2017 during a trip to Germany.

The Cambridges have two older children - Prince George, five, and Princess Charlotte, three.

In the lead-up to hosting a Marathon for Mental Health in the United Kingdom in 2017, Prince Harry revealed he'd sought counselling in his early 20's after two years of what he labelled "total chaos" following the death of his mother, Princess Diana.

Last month Prince William opened up about the emotional toll of witnessing suffering during his time as an air ambulance pilot.
