Adele shares epic throwback snap to celebrate upcoming Spice Girls tour

Spice Girls split in 2000 and last reunited at the 2012 London Olympics

This picture was joined by the announcement that the 90s pop band will reunite for a tour in Summer 2019 which will see them play six gigs in the United Kingdom starting in Manchester on June 1 and ending in London on June 15.

ITV lunchtime programme Loose Women welcomed back Mel B to the Loose Women studio panel and the rest of the presenters were eager to quiz her on the latest updates for the tour news.

Meanwhile, Mel C cut a more low-key figure in a pair of high-waisted denims, white T-shirt and leather jacket with her purple trainers.

Media captionWhat do people really think of the announcement that the Spice Girls are going on tour?

It was announced yesterday the Spice Girls will be getting back together for a reunion tour next year, and it could lead to fresh material in the future.

"She obviously was and still is a huge part of the band", Mel C told bandmate Emma Bunton, who co-presents the station's breakfast show with Jamie Theakston.

"Yeah we are", Mel confirmed once and for all, as Ruth struggled to contain her excitement. "I knew you were going to bring that up", she said. So far only United Kingdom dates have been unveiled but hopefully if ticket sales for this leg are strong and worldwide fans keep make their voices be heard loudly on social media, The Spice Girls will announce outside-UK dates in the near future too.

The group originally split in 2000 after performing for two years as a four piece without Geri. They got together again to perform at the London 2012 Olympics closing ceremony.
