Breaking Bad movie reportedly in the works

Earlier today, friend-of-the-site James Shapiro shared with me a post from The Albuquerque Journal, one claiming that a Breaking Bad movie would soon be going into production in New Mexico.

Details about the project are pretty scarce at this stage, but the movie is expected to be a two-hour feature - although it's not yet known whether Gilligan will be making a TV movie or a theatrically-released film.

It has been reported that the classic television series Breaking Bad is to be made into a spin-off film, with the cameras set to roll in New Mexico this month.

Harvard Researchers: Space Object Was Alien Spacecraft
A "unique object" was discovered travelling at 196,000 miles per hour on October 19, 2017 by the Pan-STARRS 1 telescope in Hawaii. The team termed the possible propulsion system a "lightsail of artificial origin".

Basically, all we know right now is that the movie - which has apparently been floating around under the working title (or is it a fake title?) of Greenbrier - is apparently in the works! Sadly, there's no word on whether or not original stars, such as Bryan Cranston, Anna Gunn, Dean Norris or Aaron Paul, will return for the new story. THR reports that Gilligan is writing the script for the film, which will be set in the existing franchise and, according to the site, involved "the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom". Vince Gilligan also serves as a co-creator and executive producer on that series.

If you need to catch up on Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul (or re-watch them for the 10th time), all of the episodes are streaming on Stan.

Breaking Bad, which starred Bryan Cranston as chemistry teacher Walter White who turned to cooking meth after getting diagnosed with cancer, became a breakout hit for AMC and ran for five seasons from 2008 to 2013.
