Sri Lanka's Dilhara Lokuhettige charged under Emirates Cricket Board's anti-corruption code

Former Sri Lanka global Dilhara Lokuhettige has been charged with three counts of breaching the Emirates Cricket Board's Anti-Corruption Code.

The sense of gloom surrounding Sri Lanka cricket deepened yesterday when Dilhara Lokuhettige, the former all-rounder, was charged with three corruption-related offences by the ICC. Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has been grappling with a series of corruption cases and Lokuhettige is the latest name to be added to the list of those involved.

A "Team Sri Lanka" side comprising a mix of domestic and worldwide players did take part in the competition, however.

Jayasuriya and Zoysa were charged for matches relating to Sri Lankan national team. Furthermore, ICC have suspended Lokuhettige for with immediate effect. The other charge appertains to article 2.4.4, a "failure to disclose to the designated anti-corruption officer (without unnecessary delay) full details of any approaches or invitations he received to engage in corrupt conduct".
