Soules enters guilty plea for leaving scene of accident, subject to approval

Chris Soules

Chris Soules, who became a celebrity when he starred in ABC's "The Bachelor", is pleading guilty to his role in a crash that killed an Iowa farmer in April 2017. Soules was arrested hours later at his home after police obtained a warrant.

According to prosecutors, Soules rear-ended a John Deere tractor and sent it and its driver flying into a ditch.

Soules, known as "Prince Farming" on the ABC reality show, was initially charged with leaving the scene where a death occurred past year, a charge he had pleaded not guilty to.

Bachelor alum Chris Soules is no longer facing a felony in the case of a 2017 vehicle accident that resulted in the death of 66-year-old Kenneth Moser. He is now scheduled for sentencing on January 19, 2019.

His rep released a statement to ET following his release from jail, noting that the reality star was "devastated" following the fatal crash. "He was devastated to learn that Kenneth Mosher, the other person in the accident, passed away". "Nor did the charging officer mention that Mr. Soules had rendered emergency aid to Mr. Mosher".

Browns TE David Njoku Expected to Play Sunday
Maybe that's a good thing moving forward. "It wasn't the outcome we wanted and worked for but we can't dwell on it", Riley said. Cleveland Browns rookie running back Nick Chubb broke loose for a 92-yard touchdown run vs. the Atlanta Falcons .

Last September, Soules filed a motion to dismiss all charges in his felony hit and run case. "Ultimately, Mr. Soules' 911 call establishes probable cause does not exist for the charge against Mr. Soules".

Soules pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious injury, an aggravated misdemeanor.

"Mr. Soules described the location of the accident and communicated with dispatch for approximately 5 minutes and 45 seconds while help was en route", the court papers read.

However, in early January, a judge denied Soules' motion to dismiss the case against him.
