Nevertheless, traditional business models are no longer sustainable and high-quality publications, like ours, are being forced to look for new ways to keep going.

A suicide vehicle bombing followed by an armed assault killed at least two people and wounded many more outside police headquarters in the port city of Chabahar in restive southeastern Iran on Thursday.

It reported there were sounds of explosions and shooting in the city on Thursday. He did not elaborate.

The official IRNA news agency said it was a auto bombing. There was no immediate claim of responsibility.

Footage showed smoke rising over the city. Reuters could not verify their authenticity.

Iran has stepped up security in border areas after gunmen in September opened fire on a military parade in Iran's southwestern city of Ahvaz, killing 25 people, nearly half of them members of Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards corps. No militant group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack. "We express our condolences to the government and the people of Iran and the families of the victims of this attack", the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement.

In June a year ago, IS militants attacked parliament and the shrine of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the leader of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, killing at least 18 people and wounding more than 50.

Tehran accuses its Sunni-led regional rival Saudi Arabia and the United States of funding most of these groups, a charge that Riyadh and Washington deny.

Mohammad Pakpur, the commander of the ground forces of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) said the attack had failed.
