James Maddison magic helps push Leicester closer to top six

James Maddison of Leicester City celebrates scoring a goal during the Premier League match between Leicester City and Watford FC at The King Power Stadium

Jamie Vardy opened the scoring with a penalty after 12 minutes before James Maddison netted a brilliant volley to move Leicester up to eighth place in the points table.

Leicester City beat Watford 2-0 at the King Power Stadium on Saturday and fans were delighted with the performance of one man on social media.

Harry Maguire is back in training but unlikely to play, while Rachid Ghezzal remains a doubt with a leg injury.

The entire football fraternity came together to mourn the death of Vichai, who bought the unheralded central England side in 2010 and went on to stun the football world by beating odds of 5,000/1 to win the Premier League title in 2016, which is now a folklore.

The marching orders given to Morgan and Vardy should have been warning enough for the other Leicester players, but seeing as they haven't done any good, Claude Puel now hopes that Maddison's red card will teach some sort of a lesson to him and the teammates as well. I know he felt something but we will see with him and my medical staff.

Asked if Vardy may need an operation, Puel said: "I don't know".

"I don't know my starting team because I have some problems with different players".

"I don't know. It's a balance to know his feelings step by step", he said. "Other players must be ready in their minds to play and replace another team-mate".

"He was very upset with himself and it was important for him to give a good reward to his teammates and bring the quality to his game".

Leicester City were comfortable as they breezed past Watford in the Premier League to make it five top-flight matches without defeat.

Leicester City manager Claude Puel on Ranieri: "We can not forget what he brought to the club".

It was both a moment of individual brilliance and a fantastic team goal.
