Jokic, Nuggets edge Raptors to end Toronto’s eight-game win streak

Nuggets' Gary Harris exits vs. Raptors with hip injury

Thanks in large part to the efforts of Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray, the Denver Nuggets walked away from Monday night's game against the Toronto Raptors with a 106-103 victory.

Then trailing by a point with two minutes to play, Leonard air-balled a three-point attempt, but made up for it with a long jumper - and a double fist pump in celebration - on the Raptors' next trip down the floor to give the Raptors a brief lead.

Denver's recipe for success remained the same: get the ball to Jokic and let him do his thing.

The Nuggets took 59-47 advantage into halftime, paced by 14 points, 10 assists and five rebounds from Jokic.

The Raptors shot a awful 2-for-12 from three-point range in the first quarter, but still managed to keep it close.

Those differences persisted after Wednesday's meeting, OPEC delegates said. Saudi Arabia's Energy Minister Khalid al-Falih met with the U.S.

"He does everything", Murray said of Jokic. The Nuggets won their sixth straight and halted Toronto's winning streak at eight.

Blake Griffin led Detroit with 20 points. Denver would answer though immediately going on a surge of their own to give themselves an 86-78 lead going into the fourth quarter. Leonard scored a game-high 27 points and had eight rebounds for the Raptors. The Nuggets led 104-103 when Jokic caught an inbound pass from forward Paul Millsap in the final seconds. Hernangomez would go one of two from the line as the game was now in the hands of the Nuggets defense.

Clawing their way back from a 12-point deficit, a fadeaway shot by Leonard tied the game with 7.1 seconds on the clock.

Leonard was called for a non-shooting foul, but Jokic threw up a shot anyway.

In New Orleans, Tobias Harris made two clutch free throws with 4.7 seconds left to close out a 27-point performance, and Los Angeles held off the Pelicans. Murray logged a whopping 41 minutes, scoring 21 points, dishing out eight assists, and grabbing seven rebounds. Beasley also had a good game for Denver off the bench as he poured in 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field, 3-of-3 from behind the three-point line.
