"I am very proud of the 2016 presidential campaign we ran, and of the staff and volunteers who made our successes possible", Sanders said in the statement posted to Twitter.

"I categorically deny these allegations of improper and unprofessional conduct", Becker said in a statement.

According to POLITICO, Mr. Becker "oversaw Sanders' Iowa campaign, then helped lead his efforts in Michigan, California and NY as deputy national field director" and has reportedly started calling former staffers to prep for Sanders' potential 2020 run over the past few months.

Allegations that male members of his campaign had harassed and discriminated against female campaign workers have been circulating for weeks as the senator weighs a potential second presidential run.

"It just really sucks because no one ever held him accountable and he kept pushing and pushing and seeing how much he could get away with", the woman told Politico.

Becker traveled to SC - the first-in-the-South primary state - in December for meetings with former Sanders campaign staffers, CNBC previously reported.

Iran's Khamenei: Some US Officials are 'First-Class Idiots'
However, Trump's decision last year to withdraw from the nuclear deal has seen the 79-year-old cleric grow increasingly critical. President Trump's personal attorney Rudy Giuliani has made similar comments before the group.

In a Tweet early Thursday afternoon, Sanders issued an apology. He said he considered the allegation to be credible. He outlined what steps his 2018 Senate re-election campaign had taken to prevent sexual harassment, including training on the issue for all employees.

So she told senior Sanders advisers, including 2016 campaign manager Jeff Weaver, what happened. They called Becker's alleged behavior "deplorable and fundamentally unacceptable". The Vermont senator also said he wasn't aware of a reported $30,000 settlement Becker was named in to resolve a discrimination claim against his 2016 campaign.

Sanders has been plagued with rumors over his mistreatment of females staffers during his 2016 campaign, as highlighted in a New York Times piece published Wednesday. Bernie Sanders continues to take hits over allegations of sexual misconduct during the 2016 campaign, supporters of the Vermont independent are planning almost 400 events across all 50 states Saturday to back another White House run.

Sen. Sanders addressed the allegations on CNN in a manner that some regarded as dismissive.

The news comes after the New York Times reported that women who worked on the 2016 campaign experienced sexism, were paid less than male counterparts and were ignored when they reported unwanted sexual advances made by a Sanders surrogate on the campaign trail.

He apologized "to any woman who felt that she was not treated appropriately, and of course if I run, we will do better next time", but went on to say that he was unaware of the allegations because he "was a little bit busy running around the country trying to make the case".
