Blue Jackets’ Sergei Bobrovsky to miss game after unknown ‘incident’

Considering the fact that Bobrovsky is on the final year of his current contract ($7.425 million AAV) and is unlikely to re-sign with the Blue Jackets - there has been no reported progress on an extension - there's some speculation that he could be shipped out of Columbus before the trade deadline.

John Tortorella got his 600th National Hockey League win when Artemi Panarin scored at 1:22 of overtime to give the Columbus Blue Jackets a 4-3 win against the Nashville Predators at Nationwide Arena on Thursday.

The Blue Jackets said Bobrovsky may return to practice with the team on Friday, meaning this could be just a one-day punishment for the 30-year-old goalie, but he will have to meet with general manager Jarmo Kekalainen before being cleared to do so. "This is an internal matter and we will have no further comment at this time".

"I'm not going to speculate on any of that until we resolve the issue", Kekalainen told The Athletic.

Mobile is taking on phone scammers with new Caller Verified technology
To say that spam calls are annoying would not only be redundant, but it'd also be a big understatement. Caller Verified is now available on the T-Mobile Galaxy Note 9 at no extra charge.

Goalie Jean-Francois Berube was called up from the AHL's Cleveland Monsters to backup Joonas Korpisalo.

Bobrovsky is 18-13-1 this season with a goals-against average of 2.86 and a.906 save percentage. They know my plans for the future. They know my plans for this season, they know my plans for the future so they know everything. But unless Kekalainen is getting a goaltender that he feels can help his team on the same level, this situation will likely have to be sorted out as the Blue Jackets eye a deep playoff run.

The club also announced that Brandon Dubinsky (hamstring) and Markus Hannikainen (elbow) have been placed on injured reserve.

The team made the announcement several hours before the Blue Jackets were set to play host to the Nashville Predators.
