Bill Timmons, Hacienda HealthCare's CEO and president, resigned yesterday after a report that the woman was sexually attacked at one of his facilities in Arizona.

Hacienda almost lost its Medicare funding in December 2013 after Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) found at least one staff member was abusive to multiple patients while several staff members were deficient in reporting patient allegations of abuse by staff. In the report, a source told the outlet that staffers didn't know that the woman was pregnant until she went into labor. "And they didn't know what was wrong with her", the source said.

"Sadly, one of her caretakers was not to be trusted and took advantage of her".

"We're not going to point out who we've obtained DNA from or who we intend to get DNA from", he said.

"I wasn't there", Meyers said.

Patient requires 24-hour care, indicating that facility's staff would have access to her room.

"She had no way to defend herself in this sort of situation?" asked Whitney.

"None of the staff were aware that she was pregnant until she was pretty much giving birth", a source told KPHO. One of them includes not allowing male employees in rooms without a female supervisor.

Phoenix Police served a DNA warrant on all male employees of Hacienda Healthcare in their hunt for the father of a boy born last month to a 29-year-old Apache woman in a vegetative state.

A Hacienda HealthCare spokesman said the organisation was co-operating with authorities.

A Hacienda Healthcare spokesperson told AZ Family that it has been in business for over 50 years and has "an outstanding reputation". Additionally, we can not comment on any ongoing investigations.

"Our top priority is patient safety", Ducey said in a statement Friday.

"We are aware of this situation and are actively working with local law enforcement in their criminal investigation", the department said in a statement. The Phoenix Police are investigating this sexual abuse case.

The state department of economic security dispatched a team to conduct health and safety checks at the facility, and the department of health services has beefed up safety measures: more staff, increased monitoring and stronger security. "Most of the places are senior care", Cesena said.

Phoenix police say the matter is under investigation and decline further comment. The child is being cared for by the woman's family.

But there have been reports of patient mistreatment. "We will continue to cooperate with Phoenix police and all other investigative agencies to uncover the facts in this deeply disturbing, but unprecedented situation".

"As a company, we welcome this development in the ongoing police investigation", the company stated in the release, reported the Arizona Republic.

The Arizona Department of Health Services determined Hacienda was not in compliance due to staff treatment of clients and staff training program. It's unclear what evidence they have for this line of inquiry.
