Fallout 76 players discover secret human NPC & unseen items

Fallout 76 players find secret items from glitchy

Bethesda, being Bethesda, just leave their developer rooms in their games. You might be familiar with the concept of that room from Bethesda games - these rooms contain every single item in the game, and in titles like Skyrim and Fallout 4, they're easily accessible by cheating through the console. As the name implies, these rooms are usually intended for developers to experiment with various items, NPCs, and objects without affecting the rest of the game.

The Fallout franchise is no secret to housing secret areas and a hidden "dev room" isn't necessarily new either. Exploits like this were relatively harmless in Bethesda's singleplayer RPGs, and exploring/cataloging them was nearly a hobby, but the devs are apparently taking a different approach to such exploits in Fallout 76.

To find out more about what's been going on, I got in contact with some of the people who have visited the secret area - who wish to remain anonymous - and asked them about the process.

What's more interesting is that a box named "All Scrap" contains numerous unreleased items inside it.

Manchester City scrap plans to take winter break as fixtures pile up
Pep Guardiola revealed he is unlikely to whisk Manchester City away on a warm-weather break because they are fighting on all four fronts.

There's even been a black market opening up on Reddit with players attempting to sell these unreleased items, but have been quickly getting bans from the mods. An email has been doing the rounds suggesting that players who enter the room could receive a temporary suspension in order to "ensure the integrity" of characters and accounts. It appears Bethesda is looking into handing out automatic account bans that can take 6 to 24 hours to resolve.

Something that seems a little more obvious is Bethesda still has some work to do when it comes to securing the online game - although the most recent patch has made significant improvements in this regard. One of the biggest complains about the latest in the Fallout series, though it is - again - a spin-off, is that there are no human NPCs walking around.

So, an interesting situation, and one that shows Bethesda may have been planning human NPC's for 76 at one stage, and made the decision to can them before release.
