Leeds United in talks to sign Real Madrid keeper Kiko Casilla?

Bailey Peacock Farrell has been Leeds' first choice keeper this season

As Marcelo Bielsa continues to shift things around somewhat, to accommodate a growing injury list, there comes news that the club are poised to announce the signing of Real Madrid #3 Kiko Casillas.

And The Yorkshire Evening Post say they have finally found their man and that Casilla will fly to England for a medical early next week.

Casilla, 32, has 18 months remaining on his Real Madrid contract, and Leeds are reportedly happy to buy him out of it after he fell to third choice at the Bernabeu due to the arrival of Thibaut Courtois in the summer.

The shot-stopper, who has not played for Real Madrid this season, sees the chance of regular first team football if he joins Leeds.

Leeds have been looking for a goalkeeper since November, when Chelsea loanee Jamal Blackman broke his leg in an under-23s match.

The failure of the radio system added to the chaos that included SWAT teams not knowing where to land their helicopters. Peterson was in a position to engage Cruz and mitigate further harm to others, and he willfully decided not to do so.

United wanted to loan Darlow from St James' Park but were put off by Newcastle's £4m asking price.

Bailey Peacock-Farrel has been Leeds' no.1 for the majority of this season, but Casilla would presumably take his spot between the sticks once the deal is concluded.

Casilla started his career in the youth ranks at Real Madrid before then moving away to make his mark at senior level. He returned to the Bernabeu in 2015 for a fee of more than £5m.

Peacock-Farrell, 22, has been first choice all term but his form came under scrutiny before Christmas and Bielsa admitted publicly that he would have dropped the Northern Ireland worldwide for a 2-0 win over Bristol City in November had Blackman not suffered a season-ending injury.
