Oracle Park new name San Francisco Giants stadium replacing AT&T

Report: San Francisco Giants' Stadium Renamed to Oracle Park

As first reported by the San Francisco Chronicle's Henry Schulman, the Giants announced a new naming rights deal with technology giant Oracle on Thursday. The AT&T signs that were installed in 2006 are being removed to be replaced with temporary Oracle Park banners.

Per Bloomberg, Oracle paid more than $200 million for the stadium's naming rights. The Warriors, who won three National Basketball Association championships in the Oakland arena, are moving across the bay to a new arena in San Francisco next season, and Oakland's arena will be renamed.

AT&T gave the Giants the option to end their deal a year early if the team could find another partner.

AT&T Park in San Francisco, one of baseball's best and most lovely ballparks, will soon have a new name.

This name change will mark the fourth different title the Giants current home stadium will have since opening as Pacific Bell Park in 2000.

"We are extremely proud that one of the best and most storied ballparks in America will now be called Oracle Park".

"I've been in the city for about ten years now, so it seems like that's the Giants' home and having it renamed... but I'm also a San Jose native, and they've changed the name of the Shark Tank multiple times, you get used to it", said Sean Costella.

"We really like the fact that Oracle is a local company", Baer said.

The Giants and Oracle are expected to make an official announcement on Thursday morning.
