Steve Buscemi's Wife Jo Andres Dead at 65

Steve Buscemi and Jo Andres

A very sad story from several days ago is only just now coming out: Steve Buscemi's wife, Jo Andres, died at some point last week. Their son, Lucian, was born in 1990.

Her funeral was reportedly held at their home in New York City earlier this week.

Steve, who is probably best known for his roles in Reservoir Dogs, The Sopranos and Fargo was Jo's biggest fan.

The couple married in 1987, and Andres drew acclaim in 1996 for her film "Black Kites", which played at Sundance, Berlin, and Toronto and aired on PBS.

A cause of death has not been released to the public, according to E!

His Big Lebowski co-star, John Turturro, as well as Sopranos star Aida Turturro paid visits, showing love and support for their grieving friend.

The tour match begins next Thursday, and like the first Test at the Gabba is a day-night fixture to be played with the pink ball. Sri Lanka will also play a day-night pink ball tour match in Hobart beginning January 17.

Andres came to prominence in the '80s for her film/dance/light performances throughout New York City, specifically at the Performing Garage, La Mama Experimental Theater Club P.S. 122, St. Marks Danspace, and the Collective for Living Cinema.

FDNY Firefighters from Buscemi's Ladder Company were seen at the Brooklyn home (he was a volunteer firefighter on 9/11), and helped as the wicker casket was carried out.

The 65-year-old became an artist back in 1980 and has since went on to be a filmmaker, choreographer and performer.

In 1992, Andres served as an editor on her husband's debut directorial film short, What Happened to Pete.

"If we don't have a place where artists can [have] a voice then it's a loss from the whole culture", Andres told NBC News in 2011.
