Browns will have a zero-tolerance policy with Hunt — GM

Kareem Hunt Browns Chiefs

The Cleveland Browns' have signed former Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt. When Browns owner John Dorsey was asked about his team's stance towards violence against women, he responded: "I'm not going to be the spokesperson for the organization with regards to that". Dorsey added that the running back, who was released by the Chiefs in November after video emerged that showed him shoving and kicking a woman, "took full responsibility for his egregious actions and showed true remorse".

Hunt, 23, is now on the Commissioner's Exempt List while the National Football League finishes its investigation into the incident. First of all, many thought NFL teams would wait to hear the official punishment from the NFL on Hunt violating the league's personal conduct policy before signing him.

Many thought Hunt would sign with a team this offseason.

The Browns, as they should have, didn't shy away from Hunt's disturbing 2018, and Dorsey, in addition to being blunt in a statement released after the signing, addressed the media at the team's headquarters in Berea. The team said it previously knew about this incident, but the video demonstrated that Hunt had not been truthful when team officials talked with him about what happened.

"I don't have any indication of how the league is going to act on this penalty", Dorsey said. He is a free agent.

We've seen players like Corey Clement succeed in Philly and Johnson is the same kind of player but better. "There has been a tremendous amount of progress in that investigation". Dorsey spoke to reporters on Monday, and he explained the reasoning behind the move. It is important to keep Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston in mind.

Hunt faces a baseline six-game suspension, but due to the multiple incidents any ban could be increased. Hunt's case could follow a similar track, with the league making a recommendation and the union and league negotiating a final agreement.

He can not participate in offseason workouts, practices or preseason games until a final decision on a suspension is made.

It was Cornell's final original material recorded before he took his own life on May 18, 2017. Throughout his career, Cornell had been nominated for a Grammy 16 times.

If he is suspended, when would it take effect?

He could have been a difference-maker for the Bears, maybe as soon as the second half of the 2019 season.

When Hunt was released by the Chiefs, the organization said he had lied to them. "But after doing extensive research, analyzing the situation, we came to the conclusion that I'm willing to help a man from a second chance moving forward to be a better person".

What is Hunt's contract status?

. Are the Browns equipped to handle Hunt?

The Browns last season had a fairly successful season. They can do so without having to wonder if the phone will ring in the middle of the night with news of trouble for Hunt. The 5-9 back can not only run in-between the tackles and make defenders miss, but he is also able to take over games as a receiver. They will likely be back splitting time this season. In fact, they traded away Carlos Hyde to give Chubb the ball more often.

What does this mean for Chubb?

Hunt is just 23 years old and he had 14 touchdowns last season - seven rushing and seven receiving.

"The Cleveland Browns, with this signing, declare from ownership on down, that talent and winning matter above all else", Labbe wrote.

Does this make Johnson expendable?

[Dontrell Hilliard is the fourth.] You have three veterans on there now. "I think he's man enough to do that". Again, he has to earn the trust of everybody within this organization and the city of Cleveland.
