José Mourinho to start new job ... as host on Russian TV show

Jose Mourinho is returning to football with RT for a special new show offering coverage of the UEFA Champions League, following the revered Portuguese manager's popular stint with us during last summer's World Cup in Russian Federation.

Mourinho, who was dismissed by United back in December, worked with worldwide news channel RT during the World Cup and earned £1.71million (£400,000-a-day) for just four days' work as a TV pundit.

He said that he is going to talk regarding football on the show.

Called On the Touchline with José Mourinho, the fortnightly show will start on 7 March.

Mourinho guided United through the competition's group stages before being sacked in December amid reports of player unrest.

"Covering the world championship for RT was a great experience for me, and I am happy to continue working with this wonderful team", Mourinho said. "I'm used to surprising people", he adds.

Jose Mourinho has landed a new job after signing a mega-money deal to return to work for controversial Russian broadcaster RT.

The RT news channel broadcasts its coverage in Arabic, English and Spanish. RT said it was "extremely disappointed by Ofcom's conclusions".

RT, originally Russia Today, began broadcasting internationally in 2005 as a subsidiary of RIA Novosti, one of three Russian state-owned news broadcasters. It aims to improve the image of the country. At its launch, it promised a "more balanced picture" of Russian Federation. Many years later it changed its name to RT and now, it focuses its news on the United States.

The channel's slogan is "Question More", and the network aims to provide its worldwide audience with the Russian viewpoint on global events.
