Davis improved to a mark of 21-0 with 20 wins by knockout as he defeated Ruiz at just 2:59 of the opening round.

"We're talking about May [for Davis' next fight], if that's okay with him", Mayweather stated (via Boxing Scene). To fight Mayweather, Nasukawa moved up from is natural 126-pound featherweight division to the 147-pound welterweight division.

On New Years Eve, Mayweather returned to the ring by facing Nasukawa in a three-round exhibition but it didn't last long. Mayweather needed only a little over two minutes to lay waste to Nasukawa, who suffered three knockdowns and left the ring in tears after the fight. "I got about $80 million on the table worth of exhibitions".
