Nintendo: 'The 3DS market has contracted faster than we anticipated'

Nintendo Has Unannounced Games It Plans to Release This Year

Nintendo Switch Online is the Japanese company's online gaming platform on which they release new games for Nintendo Switch, as well as the classic NES video games which are now available for free for members.

Nintendo has yet to have a traditional Direct in 2019, disappointing some after announcing an indie-focused presentation last month which revealed SteamWorld Quest.

The Nintendo 3DS has undoubtedly slowed its number of new releases down 8 years after its release, but with WarioWare Gold, Persona Q2 and a remake of the classic Luigi's Mansion arriving last year, it's fair to say that the handheld is still receiving some heavy hitters.

Nintendo's online subscription service called Nintendo Switch Online offers several incentives for subscribers including online play and a catalogue of retro games, but Nintendo is now planning on adding to its appeal even more.

Nintendo's President Made it clear that the company will be trying to push for this to be more common from here on.

Fatal airbag recall = 1.7 m
The airbags, made by Japanese company Takata, feature an inflator that uses explosives to quickly pump up the bag during a crash. Between Subaru , Tesla , B-M-W, Volkswagen , Daimler vans , Mercedes , and Ferrari it's for more than 1.7 million vehicles.

"And from the viewpoint of our full-year unit sales forecast for this fiscal year, while we expected that releasing titles during the holiday season would help to increase sales, the year-on-year sales increase during the first half of the fiscal year turned out not big enough, which also affected the revision of the unit forecast as we looked back now".

Interestingly, Furukawa goes on to talk about future goals, too.

Details about the secretive new blockbuster game are pretty sparse, but Nintendo offered a few more clues about the multiplayer title during a recent briefing for its nine-month financial results until December 31, for the fiscal year ending March 31.

To combat this change, and in hopes to "build relationships with consumers and enrich the [service's] content", Furukawa notes that Nintendo is "planning ways to boost the appeal of the service on a yearly basis", with announcements to follow.
