Gere told Hola! in an exclusive interview after the wedding: "I'm the happiest man in the universe and how couldn't I be? I'm married to a attractive woman who is smart, sensitive, committed to helping people, who's fun, patient, who knows how to forgive, who's a great cook - and who makes the best salads in the world!"

The couple was introduced by a mutual friend when the Chicago actor stayed at Alejandra's family-owned hotel in Positano, Italy, in 2014.
