Police in New Rochelle, NY have announced that Valerie Reyes' ex-boyfriend Javier da Silva has been arrested in connection with her death.
Driving along a quiet road, he then ditched the suitcase in a forest.
Reyes, 24, went missing on January 29 from her home in New Rochelle, a small town in NY.
Greenwich police Tuesday identified the suspect in the killing of Valerie Reyes as Javier DeSilva, who was arrested in Queens, N.Y.
In a press conference on Tuesday Greenwich Police said that de Silva confessed to playing a role in the murder when he was questioned following his arrest.
Police said they have examined hundreds of hours of surveillance footage in the case and interviewed several potential witnesses. Police did not confirm that this was the same ex-boyfriend. Da Silva Rojas was arrested Monday in Queens, New York.
'She didn't mention anything or no one specific. "I was praying that wasn't her in the suitcase. I'm paranoid, mummy. I'm getting anxiety attacks.' She was having a hard time talking".
