Indian Wells Open: How to watch Angelique Kerber vs

Raonic ends Kecmanovic’s dream run, reaches Indian Wells semis

Andreescu, 18, will play in her second final of 2019, and she aims to become the youngest victor at Indian Wells since 17-year-old Serena Williams claimed the title back in 1999.

It seems that 2019 will be her breakthrough year after a string of impressive victories over some of women's tennis' top stars saw her overtake Eugenie Bouchard as Canada's top-ranked player.

Kecmanovic, a 19-year-old Serb ranked 130th in the world, became the first lucky loser to reach the quarter-finals at Indian Wells since 1990, but 2016 runner-up Raonic completed a 6-3 6-4 success to move through.

Pliskova raced to 4-1 lead before wrapping up the second set. "The court heats up a little bit".

"Today, I believed in myself playing against these top players". Kerber has won three of the four Grand Slam tournaments in her career, including the most recent Wimbledon, and will present a formidable challenge for the upstart Andreescu as the players face off for the first time. "I'm not going to the court with any expectation. I was trying to play concentrated, and going for it when I had the chance", Kerber said.

Andreescu will play the victor of the second semifinal between No. 23 seed Belinda Bencic of Switzerland and No. 8 seed Angelique Kerber of Germany in Sunday's final.

The 18-year-old upset the sixth seed 6-3 2-6 6-4 to become the first wildcard to reach the final at Indian Wells. A backhand down the line victor sent Belinda 3-2 up and she fired a service victor for a hold at 15 in game six and even a more significant advantage. The players then exchanged breaks before Andreescu won two games in a row to go up 5-3.

The two-hour, 12-minute triumph was the biggest in a career whose trajectory is soaring and can take another leap forward if she prevails in Sunday's final. Until Kerber stopped her, Williams had won four matches in a row for the first time since previous year in the desert.

We've run out of superlatives to describe Bianca Andreescu. A forehand return victor sent Bianca 4-3 ahead and she defended three break points in the following game to open a 5-3 advantage and move closer to the finish line.
