Kareem Jackson agrees to deal with Broncos

Ja'Wuan James Broncos

He eventually agreed to a one-year deal with the Houston Texans according to Mike Klis of 9News in Denver. The move is a boost over last years starting cornerbacks including Shareece Wright, and cornerback turned safety turned cornerback again Kareem Jackson.

"The Drive" co-host DMac called Jackson a "solid addition" to a Broncos secondary that will lose Bradley Roby in free agency and has already said goodbye to veteran safety Darian Stewart.

As reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Broncos will sign the Tennessee standout to a massive four-year, $52 million contract with $32 million of that hefty sum in guaranteed money. However, that didn't quite work out in Denver as Roby struggled in 2018.

Roby, who will turn 27 in May, found himself mostly playing at nickel cornerback on the Broncos defense.

Earl Thomas and Ravens agree on $55 million deal
When the Baltimore Ravens take the field in 2019, they will look quite different from the team that won the AFC North last season. Things actually got so bad between the two sides that Seattle tried to trade Thomas just before the start of the 2018 season.

In that time, Jackson's racked up 16 interceptions (three for touchdowns), 88 passes defensed, six forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, two sacks, and 559 tackles (468 solo). But, hope is not lost in Roby.

Roby produced huge moments for the Broncos over his career, especially during the Super Bowl 50 run. Roby is one of the youngest cornerbacks on the market and has flashed potential as one of the better ball-hawking cornerbacks in the NFL.

Jackson was also credited with 17 passes defended, tied for 3rd in the National Football League, while Roby was credited with 12.
