No Man’s Sky: Beyond Announced, Will Include a "Radical New Multiplayer Experience"

Nomanskie

However, Hello Games re-released the game last summer alongside a new expansion called No Man's Sky Next which drastically changed the game.

Following a rocky release in 2016, No Man's Sky has gone from strength to strength as developer Hello Games worked to correct its inherent flaws and expand its qualities as a multiplayer sci-fi sandbox of infinite proportions.

BEYOND's multiplayer experience will change the way players come together and offer radical new ways to explore the universe.

At the moment, that's more or less all we know about Online, but Hello says that the changes are in response to the game's Next update, which launched previous year.

Few games can boast such a big turnaround as No Man's Sky. We also reviewed the Next update for the game. "We will talk more about each component when we know we can be precise, and look forward to sharing more in the coming weeks". Titled Beyond, it introduces a new social and multiplayer experience the studio is calling No Man's Sky Online.

We are excited to announce that Beyond will contain those three major updates rolled into one larger free release. I'm assuming this means that everyone won't exist on servers, where you could potentially run into hundreds or thousands of players all flying around the same instance, but it's not clear yet. It remains to be seen how No Man's Sky: Beyond will affect the game's rather mixed legacy.

For more information, head on over to the No Man's Sky website.

If Beyond can do for No Man's Sky what NEXT did, then this charming space adventure might just be a genre-defining space sandbox of exploration and creation.
