Solskjaer Says Man Utd Have Quality To Win Champions League

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Gareth Bale

Manchester United head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was upbeat after his side were drawn against Barcelona in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, insisting that they would have to beat everyone if they are to lift the trophy.

Manchester City won both of their Premier League ties with Tottenham last season and also beat Mauricio Pochettino's side at Wembley earlier in this campaign.

"You're always measured on results, but we played a good game against Arsenal", said Solskjaer. It's easy when you're in the media or when you're a supporter, you can think short term.

"Every single game that you win puts another layer on that, on the way to becoming the team that we want to be".

"We've got to think about the longevity as well, who's going to fit in personality-wise".

World leaders condemn New Zealand terrorist attack
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan condemned what he called "the latest example of rising racism and Islamophobia ". Police in New Zealand have urged all mosques across the country to shut their doors in the wake of the incident.

United fans will be boosted to see Jesse Lingard among the stars making the trip, with the midfielder having been ruled out for the last six games with a hamstring injury. "So there's so many things that we need to think about".

"I think we've shown against PSG that on any given day we can beat a top team", said Solskjaer, who has turned United's fortunes around since he took over from the sacked Jose Mourinho in December.

Lingard was forced off injured in the Champions League defeat by Paris Saint-Germain in February but now has an outside chance of featuring at Molineux as he joined up with his team-mates before they departed for Wolves. "To win trophies you've got to win at least one or two really tough games that are like defining moments", said the Treble victor.

"We've been on a good run now.it's not "squeaky bum time" like the gaffer used to say, but it tightens up".
