Messenger will finally come back to the Facebook app

Facebook is testing the possibility of putting Messenger back into its Facebook mobile app

Having pushed its users to install Messenger on their mobile devices to continue chatting with their contacts, Facebook seems ready to take a big step back, basically returning to its origins.

Facebook confirmed the test in a Friday statement to PCMag.

Until 2014, Facebook users were able to send and receive Facebook messages in the primary app.

Right now, if you want to chat via Facebook on mobile, the app will immediately switch you over to Messenger or prompt you to download it if you don't have it already.

According to the images recently published by the well-known researcher Jane Manchun Wong, the social network giant Facebook can turn Messenger into the app that can access the social network timeline.

Phil Mickelson: Don’t rule out Tiger Woods in 2019 Masters at Augusta
I get a rush out of pulling off shots that sometimes I only dreamed about pulling off, and to see some of the reactions. "The confidence he got from winning at the end of previous year is validation that his game is right there".

This does have some advantages, like the ability to use Messenger without using Facebook.

"We are testing ways to improve the messaging experience for people within the Facebook app", the spokeswoman said.

If this integration ends up seeing the light of day, it's possible Facebook could roll it out to all users by early 2020, which is when Facebook is expected to unify its messaging platforms. Fast forwarding four years, Facebook has finally chose to reconsider its decision on moving Chats away from the Facebook app. Currently, the chat button on Facebook acts as a shortcut to a standalone Messenger app which has over 1.3 billion users.

As part of that mission, it looks like Messenger will be coming back to the main Facebook app.

According to the Verge, the move back is now being tested. At this time reactions, calls, videos, and photos are not supported.
