MS Dhoni fined for confronting IPL umpires

Mahendra Singh Dhoni

Indian cricket stalwart MS Dhoni has been slammed by Twitterati for walking onto the field in anger during the Indian Premier League (IPL) that saw Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals clashing.

Dhoni was livid to see one of the on-field umpires, Ulhas Gandhe, giving a waist-high delivery from all-rounder Ben Stokes as "no" in the tense final over of the CSK's chase of the target of 152 but dismissing it soon after.

Chennai Super Kings coach Stephen Fleming conceded that Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be questioned for his "unusual" confrontation with umpires over a no-ball but defended the skipper's actions by saying that he was merely seeking "clarity". As a effect of arguing with the umpires on-filed, the former Indian skipper has been fined 50 per cent of his match fee.

"It's (incident) like having a loss. It's been dealt with and we've moved on", Hussey said on the eve of their return leg match in Kolkata. And the game is finished and that's the thing about the IPL. There's no point us dwelling on it. The legendary batsman said that Dhoni was let off easily and he should have been "banned for two to three games".

ICC judges deny prosecution request for Afghan probe
The ICC backed down after the Trump administration took a heretofore un-tried hard line in respect of the courts gumshoes. On April 5, Bensouda's office said in a written statement that U.S authorities revoked her entry visa.

"So if he comes into the team's in trouble, quite often you see him play slowly and just resurrect the innings, build a partnership, we've seen how dominant and how powerful that can be at the death as well".

The controversial "Mankad" dismissal of Buttler by Kings XI Punjab captain Ravichandran Ashwin also raised questions, as experts said it should have been called a dead ball. The victory took Chennai to the top of the table with 12 points in seven games. "I'm expecting them to adjust pretty quickly", he said. He doesn't want a legendary player like MS Dhoni setting such examples for the youngsters.

KKR, on the other hand, have been derailed by two consecutive losses, but still find themselves with a strong chance of qualifying for the playoffs owing to their good start to the tournament.

He was seen angrily gesturing at the umpire before leg umpire Chris Gaffaney asked Dhoni to leave the field of play. "And it's something that I know he really looks forward to".
