Severe weather is possible Wednesday in Oklahoma City

An Early Look At Thursday’s Storms

The storms should move out of the DFW area by midnight with sunny and dry weather for the Easter weekend.

Currently, strong southerly flow has returned to East Texas.

Thursday's system looks a lot like what happened over the weekend: 10 total tornadoes in Alabama and at least 13 in MS (all EF-2 and lower in strength). All modes of severe weather are on the table Thursday, including strong damaging winds, tornadoes, and large hail. Four people died in Texas, two in Louisiana, one in MS and another in Alabama.

Storms will begin Wednesday in the middle of the country, with the most significant threat stretching from central-southeastern Texas to southern Kansas.

According to the National Weather Service, scattered to numerous thunderstorms are expected late this afternoon and evening. We will see a weak cap in place (inhibition of storms developing due to dry air overhead) but a cold front and dry line will start to push through on Wednesday afternoon, giving the storms the forcing they need at the surface to begin firing off.

The biggest concern is the potential for large hail, possibly 2 inches or more in diameter. In addition, the SPC has elevated the risk for strong tornadoes (EF-2 or stronger) and for winds in excess of 75 miles per hour across the region.

Fordham Student Dies After Falling From Clock Tower
Students were then told they needed to take a photo outside one of the top windows with against the skyline. Ms Monfries' family rushed to her hospital bed and were accompanied by two priests, the Post reported.

Beyond the "enhanced risk" zone, a "slight risk" (Level 2 of 5) of severe storms extends from the Mexico-Texas border to Iowa.

WHERE: The best chance for severe weather will be across the Hill Country.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed all of the DFW area under an enhanced risk for severe storms (3 on a scale of 5) that includes hail ranging from baseball to softball size.

Cities at risk include Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Louisiana; Mobile, Birmingham and Montgomery, Alabama; and Memphis and Nashville, Tennessee.

Large hail and damaging winds are possible across the state on Wednesday, forecasters say.
