Airlines in India must maintain a fleet of at least 20 planes to continue to operate worldwide flights, according to the BBC.

Jet Airways pilots, engineers and cabin crew unions are set to jointly meet the airline management on Monday in what they term as "another attempt to get the airline flying".

"We would like to appeal SBI to release Rs 1,500 crore funds for the airline to help it continue operations".

Jet has "suspended" all flights to South and Southeast Asian nations as well as services from Chennai to Paris and Toronto, it said in a statement.

Cash-strapped Jet Airways' pilots body Monday appealed to the State Bank of India (SBI) to release funds to the tune of Rs 1,500 crore that the bank had proposed to infuse into the ailing carrier as part of a debt-restructuring plan last month, news agency PTI reported.

The appeal comes on a day when the management of the airline is meeting the lenders.

Earlier in the day, the Guild, which has about 1,100 pilots as its members, made a decision to stop flying from April 15 in protest against non-payment of salaries for months. Therefore the "call of No Pay No Work stands deferred for the time being" to give the airline a chance of survival, it said. Not only the airline has been failed to pay full salaries to its employees for months but also defaulted on several payments.

Kim Foxx releases some internal texts and emails on Jussie Smollett case
Foxx's office issued a statement recusing her on February 19, though they later claimed she "did not formally recuse herself ". Joseph Magats, the First Assistant in the State's Attorney's office, ultimately made the decision not to prosecute the case.

Around the same time, the company announced it was low on working capital.

At present, Jet is operating only 7 aircraft for domestic operations due to the grounding of over 80 per cent of its fleet by lessors owing to non-payment of dues.

The SBI-led group of lenders had last month taken control of the airline and agreed to provide an immediate funding support of Rs. 1,500 crore. The airline's staff was last paid for December 2018.

Following complaints by passengers of lack of information on cancellation and non-receipt of refunds, civil aviation secretary Pradeep Singh Kharola had on Friday said that the Centre had asked Jet Airways to inform passengers 48 hours in advance about flight cancellations and take their problems into consideration.

An SBI spokesman could not immediately comment on the emergency funding being considered by lenders for Jet Airways.

Jet Airways' stock was off 7.6% at Tuesday's close.
