Baytown officer fatally shot woman at apartment complex

The officer was wearing a bodycam police said

Police said as the officer has handcuffing the woman, she was able to grab the Taser away from the officer and tased him.

The shooting happened late on Monday in Baytown, about 25 miles (40km) east of Houston.

In the video, the officer can be seen running and approaching the attacker as he tells him to "put the knife down, dude". At that time, she can be heard yelling out to the officer that she was simply walking home.

The woman is on the ground and appears to reach toward the officer when she seems to be heard saying "I'm pregnant". According to a neighbor of Turner's, she had complained about being harassed by this officer in the past. "Why? Why? I didn't do anything to you", Turner says as the struggle continues. According to local media, Dorris said the woman's family told police that she was not pregnant. Video of the deadly confrontation cuts off seconds after Turner's body slumps to the ground.

Police say that's when a struggle ensued, forcing the officer to deploy his department issued taser at the woman. It was this move that ultimately prompted the officer to fire multiple bullets at Turner.

The officer then contacted the woman and tried to arrest her, the release states, but the woman resisted the arrest.

Antoinette also added that her sister was on medication to treat schizophrenia.

Floyd Rubin, who shares two children with Turner, told CNN that police have not shared any details with his family about the shooting.

Officials have not yet confirmed whether the officer did in fact live near Turner or if complaints had been filed by Turner. "We would often see her, see her walk her dog around". She didn't mess with anybody.

"It's a tragic event for everybody involved", he said.

"It's unfortunate that someone takes a tragic incident like this and starts posting it on social media. But that's the day and age we live in with social media".

The officer involved is an 11-year veteran of the Baytown Police Department. The police are also trying to locate the person who filmed the shooting and uploaded the content to social media.
