Daniel Craig Ankle Injury Suspends "Bond 25" Filming

James Bond film put on pause by Daniel Craig injury

After multiple delays due to script issues, a director departing and more, the 25th Bond film has hit another snag after star Daniel Craig injured his ankle while filming an action sequences for the film.

According to the report, production at Pinewood Studios in London, scheduled to begin this weekend, has been cancelled until Craig has recovered.

Craig and the Bond producers have yet to comment on the story.

The Sun newspaper is reporting that Craig, 51, slipped while running in his trademark suit for the new 007 blockbuster and had to be flown to the USA for X-rays.

A source told the publication: 'He was sprinting during filming when he slipped and fell quite awkwardly.

"He was in a lot of pain and complaining about his ankle".

Along with Daniel, the recurring cast includes Jeffrey Wright, Ben Wishaw, Ralph Fiennes and Naomie Harris.

Bond 25 will follow the British spy has he faces off against "a mysterious villain armed with unsafe new technology" while in pursuit of a missing scientist. Cary Fukunaga stepped in to direct, while Fleabag's Phoebe Waller-Bridge was brought in to punch up the script. "The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with risky new technology".
