Huawei says Trump's ban is in no one's interest

Trump signs executive order clearing the way to ban Huawei from U.S. networks

The executive order applies to future transactions only.

In a different move, President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Wednesday barring American companies from using telecommunications equipment made by firms labeled as security risks.

"Unless handled carefully, this situation is likely to place US and Chinese companies at new risk", the report said.

Huawei is the world's largest manufacturer of telecommunications equipment.

The restrictions "will not make the USA more secure or stronger", the company said.

If Huawei "can't get the widget or the part or the software update to keep functioning, then those systems go down", he said.

Huawei now claims to have almost 190,000 employees, operates in 170 countries, and reported revenue of more than US$100 billion in 2018. Credit: Joy Dantong Ma. Huawei, which has repeatedly denied such allegations, did not immediately comment on the executive order.

In Thailand, Huawei has already launched a 5G test project.

But U.S. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross insisted his department's actions were unrelated to the trade war, telling Bloomberg that it was instead part of "an enforcement action" brought forth by the agency's Bureau of Industry and Security.

It adds a special optimization at the system level, application level, and especially the gaming experience is much improved. Coming to Realme X India launch, Realme CEO Madhav Seth is already arranged a special media meeting in Beijing, China.

Still, Purdy said the company remained open to discussions with administration officials, to address security concerns that have been at the center of Washington's ongoing fight with Huawei. "That's what I would call a pretty contained issue for Apple".

"First, it is not the best way to defend your national security - we don't need it". In the past, CFIUS as the governing body of global inbound investments, they looked closely at deals that could pose national security threats, meaning the stuff you are investing into is too close to a military base or the company you are trying to acquire is a defense contractor.

Moreover, as well as providing fast networking for consumer technologies, 5G applications in the industrial sector are being developed.

This move is going to directly affect the Chinese trade.

"There is time for the United Kingdom government...to reconsider the Huawei decision", said Sir Richard Dearlove in a report by the Henry Jackson Society. Now Trump is taking a much tougher line against Huawei. Trump said last month that he would end preferential trade treatment for India, which would result in USA tariffs on up to $5.6 billion of imports from India. NeoPhotonics, one of those vendors, derived 46% of its revenues from sales to Huawei past year, according to Michael Genovese, an equity analyst with MKM Partners.

As negotiations towards resolving the trade war stalled last week, the United States ramped up the pressure by raising tariffs on a list of $200 billion worth of Chinese imports to 25% from 10%, prompting China to retaliate with higher duties on a revised list of $60 billion worth of US products.

The Huawei issue cuts to the heart of tensions between security and economic interests when it comes to China and Chinese influence.

The EU imposed import duties of 25% on a $2.8 billion range of imports from the United States in retaliation for USA tariffs on European steel and aluminum.

It's not just hardware from U.S. companies - including Qualcomm, Intel, and Micron - that Huawei needs and the government would have to approve, but anything else coming from the United States, including software. Under export regulations, U.S. companies can not ship certain products to organizations named on this list unless they obtain a special license. But let's not forget the fact that strategic competition between U.S. and China is a reality now.

Ultimately, however, even if the United States and China do resolve their trade war, the battle for economic and tech supremacy between the world's two largest economies will drag on.
