Missing Chicago teen who was 9 months pregnant found dead, baby removed

Marlen Ochoa Uriostegui was murdered and her unborn baby was cut from her womb police say

The body of a 19-year-old pregnant woman reported missing last month was found behind a Chicago home, strangled, hours after several people at the home were taken into custody, according to authorities.

About 12.10am on Wednesday (May 15), the medical examiner's office was notified of a body that had been found.

Ms Ochoa-Lopez, married with a three-year-old son, was last seen leaving Latino Youth High School in the Pilsen section on April 23 to pick up the boy from Teddy Bear Day Care at 51st Street and Pulaski Avenue, according to the police. The child that Clarisa Figueroa said was hers was rushed to a hospital where he remains in grave condition and is not expected to survive.

Police said the break in the case came on May 7, when a friend of the victim told detectives of Ochoa-Lopez's Facebook exchanges with Figueroa before she vanished.

For the three weeks she was missing, Ochoa-Lopez's baby boy had already been forcibly removed from her womb and was hospitalized along with a woman who claimed to be his mother, according to fire department spokesman Larry Langford.

He did and the family hired a private investigator, who Cortes said helped find Ochoa-Lopez's vehicle near the home where her body was found.

Suspicious, detectives subpoenaed hospital records and began to collect DNA samples from the baby, his biological father and Figueroa.

"The family has been on a roller coaster", said Ms Emma Lozano, a pastor at Lincoln United Methodist Church. They said Ochoa-Lopez had bought items from Clarisa Figueroa before she was killed. The motive for the killing is under investigation, but the superintendent said he assumed the suspect wanted to raise the child as her own. Her cause of death was strangulation.

ESPN suggests the GM position could be taken up by Philadelphia Eagles executive Joe Douglas, who has some ties to Gase. The Jets and Bell agreed to a four year, $52.5 million contract in March that includes $25 million guaranteed.

Officials declined to comment on how Ochoa-Lopez's baby was removed from her body out of respect for the family.

"She was giving clothes away, supposedly under the pretense that her daughters had been given clothes and they had all these extra boy clothes", said Cecelia Garcia, a spokeswoman for the family.

Her family said they believe she went to the home on 77th Place after a woman on Facebook said she had a stroller and baby clothes. The woman also created an online GoFundMe page raising money for a funeral for a dying baby, said Sara Walker, who has been helping Ochoa-Lopez's family communicate with authorities, according to The AP.

The pregnant woman, who had been reported missing three weeks ago, has been identified as Marlen Ochoa-Uriostegui. "I think it's as low as we can hope for it to be".

She was brought as a toddler to Chicago from San Luis de la Loma, a coastal town in the Mexican state of Guerrero, and never got a chance to meet them. Police discovered that the child was Ochoa-Uriostegui's.

Piotr Bobak, Clarisa Figueroa's boyfriend, was charged with concealment of a homicide, police said. Even at that age, Ochoa-Lopez took on a mothering role, asking for help when the family was undergoing a hardship and needed furniture. Later, an anonymous tip lead the police to check the DNA of the baby. "She was a good person".

The woman said she was located near West 79th Street and South Pulaski Road, an intersection just blocks from the house where Ochoa-Lopez's body would later be found.
