MPs in eurosceptic ERG 'will vote against' May's Brexit deal in June

Sacked defence secretary Gavin Williamson is among the ex-ministers warning against a customs union

The Government will bring Theresa May's deal to the House of Commons for a FOURTH time in the week beginning 3rd June.

A Labour party spokesperson said Corbyn had raised "concerns about the prime minister's ability to deliver on any compromise agreement".

"Talks this evening between the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition were both useful and constructive".

"However, it was agreed that it is imperative to bring forward the Withdrawal Agreement Bill in time for it to receive royal assent by the summer parliamentary recess".

After a marathon Cabinet meeting ministers agreed to continue the cross-party efforts but stressed it was "imperative" for a Brexit deal to get through Parliament by the summer recess.

Alternatively, there is the possibility that Labour could amend the bill to its satisfaction - adding customs union membership, close relationship with the single market, and other details that would allow the deal to meet Corbyn's five demands on which the ongoing negotiations have been based.

British Prime Minister Theresa May will bring her thrice defeated Brexit deal back to Parliament for lawmakers to consider again in the week beginning June 3, a Downing Street spokesman said on Tuesday.

A bill implementing the Brexit deal will be introduced in the first week of June, the government has confirmed.

But she set out terms for a deal that offers only a temporary customs arrangement with the European Union, and no confirmatory referendum as demanded by Labour MPs.

Harry was also out and about on Tuesday, taking a tour of Oxford, where he said he can not imagine life without son Archie . Several senior royals , including his father Prince Charles and brother Prince William , are due to meet Archie this week.

Ministers spent more than two hours discussing the Brexit situation and despite the apparent lack of progress in talks with Labour decided the process should continue, but with a clear view that "we need to get a move on".

"No leader can bind his or her successor so the deal would likely be at best temporary, at worst illusory", said the letter, whose signatories included Gavin Williamson, who was sacked as defence minister this month, and former foreign minister Boris Johnson.

May, who secured the Conservative Party leadership and the premiership in the chaos that followed the 2016 Brexit referendum, is already under pressure from some of her own lawmakers to set a date for her departure.

"No deal planning has never stopped", the spokesman said.

May and opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn sat down for talks again on Tuesday ahead of further discussions between the government and opposition on Wednesday.

But Mr Bone said unless there were substantial changes to the Irish backstop within the Withdrawal Agreement, it would not be backed by MPs.

The UK needs to pass a law to implement the withdrawal agreement - the part of the PM's Brexit deal which will take the country out of the European Union - in UK law.

But it would mean the United Kingdom can not negotiate its own trade deals on goods with other countries around the world, something many Brexit-supporting Tory MPs support.
