Spice Girls to become superheroes in animated movie

It has been nearly 22 years since the premiere of the Spice Girls debut film, Spiceworld: The Movie, and The Hollywood Reporter now brings word that the British girl group legend are planning to make a comeback to the big screen in their own animated feature in collaboration with Paramount Animation.

The Spice Girls reunion is coming to fruition thanks to the efforts of Paramount Animation president Mireille Soria, who announced to The Hollywood Reporter that the group "had an idea that we've been developing" and that they are "very involved" in the process.

The Spice Girls, formed in 1994, have been back in the spotlight in recent years.

According to the paper, the story will see the girls reimagined as superheroes, and Emma Bunton, Mel C, Geri Halliwell and Mel B will be lending their voices to the production.
