Though the singer tried to honor her late, ex-boyfriend during her first show in his hometown since he died, she was too emotionally distraught to even be able to sing his name, so her loyal fans stepped in to help her along.

The Self Care hitmaker died from a drug overdose last September 2018, aged 26, and on Wednesday, fellow hip-hop star Anderson.Paak and his band, the Free Nationals, debuted Miller's first posthumous release with their song Time, which also features singer Kali Uchis.

Before she took the stage for her latest "Sweetener" tour stop, Grande had the PPG Paints Arena play Miller's greatest hits.

During her opening number Raindrops (An Angel Cried), which is widely rumoured to be about the breakdown of the pair's relationship, she was unable to finish the song as she began to cry. A week after his death, Grande broke her silence and shared a tribute to the late rapper on Instagram.

Grande usually closes her shows with "Thank U, Next", a glistening anthem about self-love and moving on.

The family of tragic MC Mac Miller has given its blessing to rapper/producer 88-Keys to include one of his last-ever verses in a new single. She also reserved a seat for him in the audience.

The release of the track couldn't have come at a better time.
