Bryan Singer agrees to pay $150,000 to settle lawsuit with rape accuser

Bryan Singer

"Mr. Singer has denied even knowing this individual, let alone allegedly having interacted with him more than 15 years ago", the attorney at Lavely & Singer, no relation, added.

Cesar Sanchez-Guzman sued Singer in 2017, alleging that the "Bohemian Rhapsody" director raped him in 2003, when he was 17.

The bankruptcy trustee noted that 'there is no evidence to support the allegation that Singer ever attended a party on a yacht with Guzman - something that Singer denies ever occurred, ' per THR.com.

Bryan Singer has reportedly agreed to pay out $150,000 to resolve the rape case filed by Cesar Sanchez-Guzman. The trustee reopened the claim in 2018 because the possibility of a payout from the sexual assault lawsuit was not listed as one of Sanchez-Guzman's potential assets.

Barbara Corcoran says brother 'died of natural causes' in Dominican
The deceased include a 41-year-old woman from Pennsylvania and a Maryland couple who were found dead in their hotel room. A heart attack was ruled as the cause of death, but Corcoran said she is not aware of an autopsy being performed.

The lawsuit alleged that Singer had performed oral sex on Sanchez-Guzman against his will and sexually assaulted him.

"The debtor filed a claim against Mr. Singer that he had no basis or legal right to file", Singer's attorney Andrew Brettler said in a statement to Variety. Sanchez-Guzman also alleged that Singer said he had the power to "ruin someone's reputation" if crossed. The money, to be managed by trustee Nancy James, would be used to pay off Sanchez-Guzman's creditors as well as administrative fees. He was sacked from his directing duties on-and had his producer credit stripped from-the Oscar-winning Bohemian Rhapsody and the upcoming Red Sonja movie.

The settlement resolves Sanchez-Guzman's litigation against Singer, despite the director's attorney insisting it's not an admission of guilt.

Creditors would claim $61,000 under the terms of the agreement, the bulk of which represents student loan debt. If the settlement is approved by the court, the plaintiff's suit will be dismissed with prejudice.
