John Wick 3 looking to dethrone Avengers Endgame at United States box office

John Wick 3: Excellent fighting scenes with dash of Indonesian culture

So, how can we change that?

With that one simple hook (I can even imagine the elevator pitch) writers Brian Gunn and Mark Gunn (brothers of executive producer James Gunn, of Guardians Of The Galaxy fame) have successfully imagined and fashioned an involving horror story. Despite several redrafts, this aspect of the script didn't change.

Asked which John Wick movie was the most challenging in terms of stunts, he wrote: "All of them, each for their own individual reasons". Instead, it focused on the aftermath of a completely unrelated incident. I know, I know: Paying for things sucks. However, it had a ton of large-scale repercussions.

John Wick: Chapter 2 established a deeper mythos, unveiling more into the Continental Hotels and their rules overseen by an overreaching assemblage leading the network of assassins.

Bollywood movies like Simmba, Singham or Rowdy Rathore do use these tropes, albeit a bit crassly. First and foremost, it delivers on the action scenes. For being an intense action film, Chapter 3 - Parabellum builds the plot around the ramifications of one's actions and how your reaction to a scenario can lead you down differing paths. With impeccable sound design and precise choreography, every punch, every kick, every gunshot feels real.

Veteran India batsman and two-time World Cup victor Yuvraj Singh has announced his retirement from global cricket on Monday. He also revealed that he had decided a year ago that this IPL would be his last and that he would hang his boots after it.

The Adjudicator can not abide that some members-specifically McShane and Laurence Fishburne - aided and abetted Wick in the last movie, after he'd been declared, in one of the series' other hilariously repeated words, "excommunicado".

While JOHN WICK 3 still has plenty - plenty - of action sequences and a mind-boggling body count, there is a kind of weariness that seeps in, both for the character and the audience. Space and movement are key to John Wick's mise en scène; homage is paid to sources as ostensibly unlikely as Harold Lloyd, Buster Keaton and even Andrei Tarkovsky, all masters of cinematic space. The functional nature of the suit (s) personified the fact that Wick was a man of focus, commitment and sheer effing will.

Keanu admits his attention to detail has always been there, and he has long enjoyed the more technical aspects of movie-making. Curiously, there is less gun-play in this one, despite a scene where Keanu Reeves says "I need guns". Yes, it must have been immensely taxing, unsafe and risky but the results were simply excellent as it allowed Keanu to be in front of the camera. But before you see it you might want to watch some other movies to get in the right headspace for these stylish assassinations and Ian McShane monologues. I guess we'll find out when The Continental premieres.

But while we're trained by decades of franchise movies to think of film series in threes - and these three movies certainly do have a trilogy structure, as I just mentioned - "John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum" is certainly not the end of this thing. With that, the film introduces two new villains: The Adjudicator (Asia Kate Dillon) the High Table representative who arrives in NY demanding payment for John's actions in John Wick Chapter 2, and Zero (Mark Dacascos), a hitman hired by the High Table who has an army of ninjas at his disposal and an nearly fan-boyish appreciation for John Wick's killin' skills. Instead Wick paints the streets and walls red with faceless baddies, their mere objective to take their punishment harshly. But the movie worked better if you thought of him as a creature of pure abstraction, the progeny of a thousand genre films (and a few dozen art-house ones) that had merged, perhaps in some lusciously shot explosion of a video store, and become sentient. The show has seen an increase by 600% from the primary John Wick film, which took in $950,000, on its Thursday night showings.
