Lucas Torreira finding life "very difficult" in England

Arsenal Transfer News Lucas Torreira admits his unhappiness at Arsenal

"I don't know if there's a lot of things that I'm enjoying [in England] because I think I liked living in Italy more".

Amid links with Milan, Torreira did nothing to dampen the exit reports reports but instead increased speculation by admitting that his life was "better in Italy" and that the English language barrier has been a big problem this season.

Torreira was not exactly world class for us last season but he was definitely one of our better midfielders and in fact, this poll we are running here has him and Aaron Ramsey as our two best midfielders by a country mile last season and Ramsey is already gone.

And now, amid growing interest from AC Milan, where his ex-Sampdoria boss Marco Giampaolo is set to take over, Torreira has been speaking about the difficulties he has had settling in in England.

The Uruguayan made 12 Europa League appearances - six from the bench - as Arsenal battled their way to the final, where they lost 4-1 to Chelsea in a controversial game in Azerbaijan.

She also quietly bankrolled a successful campaign to free 17 federal inmates serving life sentences for low-level drug crimes. Keeping up her track record of Very Good Suits, today's look included a strong-shouldered teal jacket with wide lapels.

The language [barrier] has stopped me being able to relate with my team-mates and with the people. "Mostly us South Americans are used to having sunny days but I think I'll get used to it as the years go by", Torreira concluded.

But as Arsenal have no intention of letting the midfielder go just a year after signing him from Sampdoria, the Rossoneri see the deal as a very hard one to do.

"At Arsenal we played four competitions, while in Sampdoria I was used to playing in only two - the Serie A and Coppa Italia".

He added: "But as the years pass, I'm going to adapt". You arrive late to your home and it's cloudy.

"But for me, the balance was positive and I am satisfied and happy with what I did in the year". The sun is a bit odd in these parts, we are not from here and we are used to always, or nearly always, the sun.
