Mozilla working on Firefox premium subscription offering - Internet

Mozilla Might Soon Offer a Subscription Service for Firefox

A report on German site T3N features an interview with Chris Beard, CEO of Firefox, who confirms that the new browser tier could be in place by the end of the year. Instead, Google was able to power through the browser market with Chrome thanks in part to Android as well as the Google home page.

As far as Firefox's Premium plans are concerned, it's now exploring the possibility of secure cloud storage and VPN services for users.

Mozilla plans to launch a "premium" version of Firefox with a built-in VPN, secure cloud storage, and more.

However, all the services and features that are now offered free will remain free in the future as well, Beard told T3N.

"We are working on three sources of income, and we want to rebalance them", Beard told t3n.

Turkey upset world champion France with a 2-0 home win
France's manager Didier Deschamps fielded nine of the players that started last year's World Cup final. Turkey next face an Iceland side who lie level with France on six points from three games.

Last week Mozilla published the Firefox Personal Data Promise. First, there's Firefox Send, Mozilla's free file transfer service, which includes extra storage and extended availability to those signed in through Firefox Accounts. News of Mozilla launching a premium service was greeted positively online, with many users liking the idea. "A high-performing, free and private-by-default Firefox browser will continue to be central to our core service offerings", said Firefox's SVP Dave Camp in a statement to Fossbytes via email.

[Image: courtesy Mozilla] Today, Mozilla is announcing a colorful new logo for Firefox and its suite of services, which represents the result of a process that began in 2018, when the nonprofit asked users for feedback on two potential brand identities.

Another surviving service from its discontinued Test Pilot initiative, password manager Lockwise, might also make more sense among a set of services than as a standalone offering.

A spokesperson for Mozilla declined to provide further information, stating that details will be revealed in the coming months.
