PSN Down Worldwide Currently, Sony Aware of Issues

Despite showing off some exciting upcoming titles at E3, PlayStation has run into a snag on the homefront.

Another added: "Well the PlayStation Network is now down.looks like The Sims 4 on pc is the game of choice today".

Even though hours have passed since initial reports of the outage came through, the network still seems to be down. The Network Service Status page agrees, stating that all services are experiencing issues.

Update June 13 2:07pm CT: The PlayStation UK support account acknowledged the issue and told users experiencing the error to keep their eyes on the PlayStation network status page on the website. "Our engineers are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, and we thank you for your patience", the message from PlayStation Support reads.

Reports indicate that sign in errors are occurring, leaving PlayStation Network users unable to play games and use other features.

For now, it appears that all core PlayStation services have been affected.

It's not clear how long this issue is going to last, or what exactly caused the outage.

The problems peaked around 8pm with the number of gamers experiencing issues rising.

Sony hasn't yet offered an explanation for what brought the PS4 servers down, though it says it's now investigating the issue.
