Magnitude 4.6 natural disaster hits just outside Seattle

4.6 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes in Seattle Area

The state of Washington was rocked Friday morning with a 4.6 magnitude quake Friday morning, the Associated Press reports.

No significant damages or injuries were reported to city infrastructure, according to Tacoma and Pierce County officials. The initial jolt was recorded at 2:51 a.m. Friday. Numerous viewers reported feeling the quake. "We are spooked and still awake", Rob Fuhriman told the station.

The Washington State Department of Transportation said in a tweet that the agency would be inspecting bridges Friday morning, but had no reports of damage.

Lion King Soundtrack Is Finally Out With Beyoncé, Donald Glover, And More
Other stars include Seth Rogen (Pumba), Billy Eichner (Timon), James Earl Jones (Mufasa), John Oliver (Zazu) and more. Beyonce will be heard as the voice behind Simba's bae Nala.

This was the largest quake in the Pacific Northwest since February 28, 2001, when a 6.8 magnitude struck near Olympia and caused widespread damage.

A 4.6-magnitude quake is relatively benign, but it comes just six days after a magnitude-7.1 quake struck Southern California, the region's worst in 20 years. There have been thousands of aftershocks of the magnitude 6.4 natural disaster on July 4 and the 7.1 quake that occurred the next day. Such quakes are common in the Cascade Mountain range.

There isn't a connection between this natural disaster and the ones that rocked California earlier this month, Steele said.
