Spanish court rules Julio Iglesias is father of 43-year old man

Julio Iglesias

Julio Iglesias was on Wednesday ruled to be the father of a 43-year-old man born after a one-week affair between the singer and a ballerina.

"(The judge) declares that Julio Iglesias is his (Santos's) biological father", the court in Valencia, Spain said in a statement.

The determination of this matter is not final and can be appealed before the Provincial Court of Valencia. The judge's ruling says "there existed contacts and a relationship between the mother of (Sánchez and Iglesias) near the date of conception".

Julio Iglesias' lawyer Fernando Falomir told CNN the singer would appeal the ruling and said Iglesias wouldn't refuse to submit to a DNA test under certain circumstances as part of the appeals process.

Iglesias, who is now 75, once claimed he had an "obsession with sex" and has eight other children.

The singer's defence team argued that the trial should not take place since the case had already gone to court. The subsequent test and comparison with Javier's DNA showed that the pair were brothers.

The ruling means Iglesias can now be referred to as a father of nine.

Boult keen for another shot at Australia in World Cup final
But after getting beaten by Pakistan and Sri Lanka we dwelt on it a little bit rather than just forgetting about it and moving on. But while the real trophy is taken back to the ICC headquarters in the UAE, the team takes home a replica.

Sanchez, who is married and lives in Italy, has said in previous media interviews that he suffered bullying as a youth because of his claim that he was the singer's son.

Santos and her son have fought a three-decade paternity battle with Iglesias.

The Grammy-winning singer, who has sold more than 300m albums over a long career, is probably Spain's biggest global star and sang at the White House at Ronald Reagan's Christmas party.

Julio Igleasias has three children with first wife Isabel Preysler, and five with his current partner, Dutch model Miranda Rijnsburger.

"Don't ask me how many brothers I have", his son Julio Jr said in 2018 on television. While the DNA did not come directly from Iglesias, the sample was actually collected from "a bottle of water" used by his son, Julio Iglesias Jr.

'I don't even know myself'.
