Postal Service deliveries in some areas. The death toll from the subfreezing temperatures brought in by the polar vortex has risen to at least 21, with more deaths being reported by multiple outlets. Aside from this, the fact that NASA's OSIRIS-REx is orbiting around Bennu at only just over a mile (1.6 kilometers) makes its close orbital distance record-breaking. United States media attributed at least four deaths to the extreme cold and the major snowstorm that preceded it. "It feels like being close to dry ice, so I can feel my skin tighten up", Leon Gilbert, 31, told AFP . Preserved ancient moss collected from the margin of a retreating ice cap on Baffin Island . It is dominated with fjords separated by plateaus. These tundra plains are covered with thin ice caps. While the rover's official status is still "Current", it has been patrolling the Martian surface since 2004. New commands are being transmitted to the rover and will continue for the next few weeks. The landing site for the Opportunity mission is in the southern hemisphere of Mars, and during southern winters Mars is also further away from the Sun, which means the season is colder than the northern winter. A chunk of Earth that could be 4.1-billion-years-old and is described as the planet's "oldest rock ", may have been found and dug up on the Moon by Apollo astronauts , according to a new study. At the time, Earth would have been experiencing asteroid impacts capable of creating craters that were hundreds of miles wide.
