The WTA Tianjin Open tennis tournament in China puts $426,750 in prize money up for grabs and the organizers of the tennis competition in China, held between October 9 and 15, granted Sharapova a wildcard to enter the tournament. The jailers attempted CPR, which was continued unsuccessfully by county emergency medical services upon their arrival. Page was pronounced dead by Coryell County Justice of the Peace Coy Latham. In the ensuing struggle she grabbed a pair of handcuffs and one jailer received what the press release described as non-life-threatening injuries.
