The only test for the Indians was their tournament-opener against Australia, who they thumped by 100 runs, courtesy an all-round show by the last edition's finalists. India's top-order batsmen, led by skipper Prithvi Shaw , are also in sublime form and are yet to be tested under hard situations. Having opened the competition with a convincing 10-wicket win over hapless PNG, a win against Australia in their second match yesterday would have guaranteed Zimbabwe a ticket to the next round. His absence though went unexplained for quite some time until Roy Hodgson provided an update in his pre-Arsenal press conference.
